What Happened & Where
Part of Dehradun district, in particular Sahastradhara, Maldevta, Tapkeshwar, Karligad, Manjayada, Bhagat Singh Colony among others, received an extremely heavy rainfall in a brief time span, which was referred to as a cloudburst.

Rescue & Relief Operations
There has been the deployment of state Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The rescue involves police, local administration, and PWD.
Hundreds of students were saved - some 200 students trapped in a college hostel in Premnagar, and rescued.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister, went to the affected areas, and supervised the rescue relief efforts. The Prime Minister and Home Minister Centre have also been put on alert and assistance has been offered.
